Location in the California Countryside |
New York, Rome's Cinecittà, Hong Kong
and "Bollywood" notwithstanding, California
is the indisputable world capital of film. But not all
filming in the state takes place within a 25-mile radius
of downtown Burbank or Culver City. The California Countryside
offers virtually every one of the world's climate zones
and topographical types, from mountain crests to coastline,
from dense forests to deserts. The Countryside's built
environment includes several hundred years' worth of
places, old and new in a variety of looks and architecture:
western outposts and ghost towns, missions, gold rush
towns, forts, ranches, rail depots, etc. The following
is a list of film commissions that represent many of
our member destinations. They're a good place to start
to find the best locations for your next feature film,
video or TV.
